Republicans go out of their way to show

their patriotism in the form of verbal support for our men and women in uniform.  But their talk is cheap, as evidenced by their never-ending attacks on bills that would lift up and support our veterans by providing enhanced healthcare, family support, etc.   Project 2025 takes this to a new level by closing hospitals and eliminating healthcare services to veterans living in rural communities.  This doesn't just impact the veterans and their families, this also translates into massive job loss for those individuals providing care in these rural areas.

Their idea surrounding veterans' care facilities is to close the VA clinics and replace with community based outpatient clinics that offer fewer services, not to mention decreasing the standard of care for our veterans.  In our community, where access to VA services is already compromised, this would deal a devastating blow to our vets.

And if you thought it couldn't get any worse, Project 2025 and Republicans seeks to dramatically slash military families and veterans benefits by cutting more than $37 million from veterans and service members' benefits.  The plan also proposes to end enrollment in VA medical care for veterans in two low-priority groups, in an effort to save an estimated $69 billion through 2032.  Finally, if enacted, it will narrow eligibility for veterans disability by excluding disabilities that cannot be related to military service.

But wait, there's more that Project 2025 and Republican leadership want

to do to those who serve or have served in our military.  If implemented, all services deemed contrary to conservative principles, such as abortion and gender reassignment surgeries, will be eliminated.

It's pretty clear that while Republicans line their pockets with defense spending kickbacks, they don't give a damn about our active military and veterans who've served our nation.
