Republicans have been working overtime to

eliminate Social Security, or at the very least, dramati- cally alter its current state.  Project 2025 will follow through on all the plans Republicans have been hinting at for years by raising the retirement age for over 8 million Georgians, or roughly 76% of Georgia's total population.  This means that Social Security recipients would lose between $46,000-$100,000 over a 10-year span.  This would threaten low and moderate income workers with economic insecurity once they leave the workforce.
